APEN-Disco is a new platform to serve the APEN research community, leading the research advancement in applied energy, and facilitating high-impact publications on Applied Energy.
Call for Participation of the First Applied Energy Discovery Workshop on System Integration of Hydrogen
(APEN-Disco HSI)
Hydrogen and hydrogen-based, low-carbon liquid fuels (such as ammonia) are essential to meet the shared Net Zero targets, while providing sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy access for all. There is growing consensus of its role in the deep decarbonization of all sectors of our economy.
The APEN-Disco HSI Workshop will focus on various aspects of system integration challenges and opportunities across technologies, sectors, places and the whole energy system to understand how best to integrate hydrogen to allow its full potential, as part of a decarbonized energy system, to be realized.
The APEN-Disco HSI Workshop is jointly led by the Applied Energy journal (https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/applied-energy), the UK’s Hi-ACT Hub (https://hi-act.ac.uk) and Cardiff University (https://www.cardiff.ac.uk), in collaboration with the HyRES Hub (https://www.ukhyres.ac.uk/). Both hubs are funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) through the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). The workshop aims to serve as a globally leading forum to advance the field of hydrogen energy system integration by connecting researchers, industry, and policy communities. It also offers a fast-track platform for high-quality research dissemination through a dedicated Special Issue in Applied Energy. All accepted abstracts will be recommended for submission to the Special Issue, subject to the journal’s standard peer-review process.
Submit your one-page summary by this date to be in with a chance of presenting.
We will inform you if your presentation will be included or not by this date.
Registration Opens. Spaces are limited so make sure you book your place. A researcher with accepted summary will be guaranteed a place. If you don’t submit a summary or your summary is not accepted but you still would like to participate, it is possible, but the space will be limited, and we will use the first come first serve principle to allocate the limited space.
The workshop will take place.
